Osa Peninsula
The Osa Peninsula is by far one of the most beautifully abundant, and untouched pieces of paradise in Costa Rica. It is home to many "must see" creatures on land, in the air and in the sea, all living among some of the most prolific fauna you'll ever see. This is a nature lovers fantasy land. There are hundreds of species of birds, animals, plants, and insects to discover but the most beautiful part about Osa is the lush tropical forest contrasted by the rocky coastline and pristine beaches that tumble directly into the deep blue Pacific Ocean. National Geographic has even called it "one of the most biologically intense places on Earth." And coming from them, that's saying something! This area is well known for its whale and dolphin populations and between July and September, it's almost guaranteed you will see a whale or a pod of dolphins on a boat tour. Some of the more popular attractions in this area are the Corcovado National Park, the Isla del Caño Biological Reserve and Drake Bay, where you can find a place to stay for every type of traveler, like a quaint bed & breakfast, or an adventure hotel for the more extreme, and even luxury accommodations for those who are not.
